WASH YOUR HANDS
If your slime is feeling sticky it could be because your hands are dirty. Make sure you wash your hands and dry them thoroughly.
-
KEEP SLIME SEALED IN JAR
Your slime will dry out much faster if it isn't sealed tighly in a jar. Make sure you put it back as soon as you are done with it.
-
HANDLE QUICKLY
Play with slime quickly so it doesn't stick to your hands! If you let it sit on your hands for too long you will have a sticky residue.
HOW TO FIX STICKY SLIME
Is your slime sticky? If you've already washed your hands and it's still feeling sticky, here is how to fix it.
No matter what type of slime you have it will generally melt over time. Sometimes due to shipping times (especially during the summer months when it's hot) slime can melt faster. If your slime arrives sticky there is an easy fix.
STEPS TO FIXING STICKY SLIME:
1. Make activator to add to your slime, here is the receipe:
- Mix 1 tsp borax to 1 cup of warm water.
- Stir the solution until the borax dissolves.
2. Add 1/2 TSP of the solution at a time or carefully dip slime in activator. If you add too much activator your slime with get too hard so make sure you only add very small amounts at a time.
3. Play with the slime until you feel it getting to the consistency you want. It takes a minute for the activator to kick in so if it doesn't harden up right away don't keep adding more until you wait a few minutes.
4. Save your activator for later in a marked container! You may need it again!
SLIME CARE FAQ
WHAT DOES AN "ADVANCED" SLIME MEAN?
The slimes we sell are rated by 3 levels. All this really is describing is how easy or difficult it is to play with a slime. Here are the levels explained:
Beginner: Easy to play with/not tacky
Intermediate: Somewhat easy to play with/somewhat tacky
Advanced: Hard to play with/tacky
If you have never handled slime before, we highly suggest getting beginner slimes! Advanced slimes stick to your hands easier and can be more tricky to play with. The more you play with slime the easier it will get to handle over time.
WHAT IF MY SLIME IS TOO HARD?
If you overactivated your slime or leave it somewhere really cold and it gets too hard, there are a few ways to fix this.
Put your slime somewhere hot, like outside in the sun, and wait for it to melt a bit.
Add glycerin in very small amounts. A little goes a long way!
Add extra glue.
HOW LONG DOES SLIME LAST?
It really depends on the type of slime! They can last weeks to months if taken care of properly.
